How to Win at March Break this Year
It’s time to say goodbye to cabin fever and queue the cheers – March Break is here! No pressure mom and dad, but some of the best childhood memories are made on this much anticipated week off school. If you’re still unsure how you’ll keep them busy, not to worry, we have loads of ideas they’ll enjoy that will have you winning at March Break this year.
Apart from the many wonderful March Break camps available that will keep them entertained during the work day, (check out Whitchurch-Stouffville’s Around the World camp or March Break Camp at Lake St. George Field Centre), York Region is packed with fun things to do with your kiddos this week. With warm(er) weather forecasted for the week ahead, get outside and take in some of that sweet fresh air at Kortright Centre for their annual Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival (until 5:00pm today) or drop in at the Markham Museum for March Break: Mission Possible for a fun family experience. Ever gone tubing at twilight? Get out to the ROC in Georgina for some fun on the slopes while it lasts! It’s also the perfect time to visit the McMichael as they are hosting March Break Madness, featuring a week’s worth of drop-in programming, including art workshops and family tours.
If you’re inclined to keep the fun indoors, why not take up some new family traditions trying out laser tag (try Laser Quest or Lazer Runner), trampolines (try Air Riderz Adventure Park or Sky Zone), or rock climbing (try Of Rock and Chalk)? Take advantage of these energy expending outlets where no clean up is required – winning!
Don’t forget, your local community centre, swimming pools or nearest skating rinks also offer great and affordable activities, so make sure to look them up for their hours of operation this week. No matter what you do, we guarantee there are enough options for you to make York Region your playground this March Break!
