How to Add an Event #

To create an event simply click the “Create Event” button at the top of the page. This will open a form with fields that you will need to fill out. All fields that are outlined in red are required.

If selling tickets to your event make sure to fill in the required field with your PayPal email address for your account.

Click “Save This Event” at the bottom of the page once filled out.

Once your event is saved it will not be instantly live. To activate your event on YorkScene make sure to click the “Not yet visible. Click here to activate” button within the top of your event listing. Alternatively you can keep this event hidden while you are working on it or do not want it shown live.

How to Add Tickets #

To sell tickets to an event first make sure you have added your paypal email address within the event “edit” page.

To create a ticket click the “Create New Ticket” link beside Ticket Types.

Here you can create your ticket name, description, price, number to be sold, ticket limit per order and check-ins allowed.

How To Add Discount Codes #

To add a discount codes to a ticket type click the “Add discount code” link associated with your ticket.

Here you can create a discount code that the buyer can use. You will need to state the discount amount to be subtracted per ticket in dollars, how many tickets are allow to be sold using the code and the expiry date.

Viewing Your Events #

To view all of your events click on the “My Events” link within the top bar.

Your events will all be listed one after the other.

How Do I Edit My Event #

To edit any of your events click the “edit” link within your event listing.

How To Preview Event Page #

To view your event click the “View” link within your event listing.

How Do I Activate My Event #

Your event is not automatically active once added. To active your event on the site click the “Not yet visible. Click here to activate” link at the top of your event listing. Alternatively you can click “Active on Experience York Region. Click here to hide.” to keep this event hidden while you are working on it or do not want it shown live.

How Do I Edit Ticket Types #

To edit any of your ticket types click the name of your ticket. You can also edit your discount codes in the same manner by click the name of your code.

How Do I View Orders & Attendees #

To view all of your ticket orders click the “View Orders” link within your listing. This will list full details of the purchase. This list can also be downloaded as a csv file by clicking the “Download as csv” link.

To view all attendees click the “View Attendees” link within your listing. This gives a full list of attendees with reference to check-in times. This list can also be downloaded as a csv file by clicking the “Download as csv” link.

How to Add Referral Codes #

If you would like to add a referral code to your event to track tickets sold from another source copy and paste the link under the Your Event URL. Remember to replace the name after the ?source= with your own unique code.

How to Embed Event on Own Site #

If you would like to embed your link on our own website copy and paste the iframe code listed under the Your Event URL area. You can adjust the source=code here to create your own unique code to track tickets sold from your site.

How to Repeat an Event #

If you would like to repeat your event at a later date you do not need to create a list listing from scratch. Simple click the date box at the bottom of your listing, choose your new date and click the “Repeat” button.

You can then edit this new listing with your new details.

How to Setup Paypal Account #

To sell tickets you first have to set up a Verified PayPal Premier or Business Account here. If you have an existing Personal account, you can upgrade your account to a Premier or Business account. Navigate to My Account>Profile>My Personal Info>Business information and upgrade your account.

How to Get Paid #

All ticket sales are instantly transferred to the paypal account that you setup for your event. This happens immediately after a ticket purchase, there is no waiting period.
