All Is Calm

Event Description

All is Calm captures an extraordinary event. On the first Christmas Eve of World War I, soldiers on both sides all along the Western Front simply stopped fighting. The informal truce held for a day in some spots; in others, it extended into the New Year. The play draws on letters home and poetry written by those who served. More than 20 songs from the era – all sung a cappella – power the tale.

A remarkable true story, told in the words of the men who lived it.

“All is Calm gives space to our dreams for human nobility.” – Minneapolis Star Tribune
