Arts Admin Workshop
In collaboration with WorkInCulture, the York Region Arts Council has developed a one-day intensive workshop designed for arts administrators in York Region. Facilitated by Parul Pandya, the day will consist of workshops to teach integral skills to participants, as well as start a conversation about what arts administrators need and insights into improving the landscape and capacity of York Region arts administrators.
Learn how to be thoughtful community collaborators, project-makers and make positive transformations in diverse communities. Explore and learn 5 Key Practices in Applying Equity to Community Programming & Engagement and reflect on various arts equity techniques and approaches that will influence design, delivery and evaluation.
This will be a full day event including lunch, with an optional networking event at the end.
What is an Arts Administrator?
Arts administrators work in the business side of an arts organization. Arts administrators are responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of the organization and fulfilling its mission. The duties of an arts administrator can include staff management, marketing, budget management, public relations, fundraising, program development and evaluation, and board relations. Arts administrators can be paid staff, board members and volunteers.
