Event Description

lice Teichert is a multi-disciplinary artist exploring the endless possibilities of how line, shape and colour can create text, producing notations that can be both read and experienced. Inspired by language and music, Teichert’s paintings, photo collages, and text works all inform her practice of visual poetry.

Her solo exhibition, text’painting at The Latcham Gallery will feature works that focus on how gestural painting can be interpreted like text and how text can be reimagined as image. In addition to her paintings and photo collages that explore these themes and ideas, the exhibition will include her 16-part composition s’pos)in( which includes an audio recording of the artwork being performed. Everyone is welcome to attend the opening reception of text’painting on Thursday, May 17 at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served and guests will be treated to a short excerpt of the performance by the artist. There is no cost to attend the opening reception.

The Latcham Gallery is open to the public Tuesday – Friday, 10 am – 5 pm and Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm. Admission to the Gallery is always free.
