Film Fridays: They Shall Not Grow Old and Tolkien

In November, Newmarket Public Library's free Film Friday matinees in the multipurpose room are about those who fought in WW1 and the author of one of the world’s most beloved series of books. They Shall Not Grow Old (2018, 14A) is director Peter Jackson’s award-winning documentary about the Great War, showing on Remembrance Day Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Tolkien (2019, PG-13) looks at the life of J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord Of The Rings, and how his youth and service in WW1 influenced his career as a writer. Tolkien is showing on Nov. 25. Drop in and enjoy these great films!
