Malevo, created by director, choreographer, and dancer Matías Jaime, this thrilling all-male group specializes in Malambo – a traditional Argentine folk dance of great virility and dexterity performed to the beat of the bombo legüero drum – and merges it with other dance styles like flamenco and urban percussion. The high-energy, vibrant dancers perform a rhythmic routine with tap dancing, beating drums, and whirling boleadoras using both contemporary and traditional music. Named an official Cultural Ambassador to the National Identity of Argentina, the group has performed in major cities worldwide as well as with Latin pop-star Ricky Martin, Cirque du Soleil, and the hit TV show America’s Got Talent.
