Ancestral Voices: Belonging and Identity in Canada – Adwoa Badoe

Join Newmarket Public Library for a new author series exploring the experiences of Indigenous, Caribbean and African Peoples in Canada. We are honoured to present author Adwoa Badoe. She is the author of two young adult novels, Aluta and Between Sisters. She has published the collection of folk tales, The Pot of Wisdom: Ananse Stories, and several picture books for children. She is an oral storyteller, specializing in the folktales and legends of Africa. In her former lives, she taught and performed African Dance and practiced medicine. She will be showcasing her book Aluta. Registration required.
