Opens February 1, 2022
Since 1996, the Government of Canada’s annual Black History Month campaign encourages people of all backgrounds to learn more about Black history in Canada. Learn about Black history in Newmarket, see a reproduction crate like the one Henry Box Brown hid in to escape from slavery to freedom and a collection of African-American Daddy Long Leg dolls. Display opens February 1, 2022. Free admission. The Museum is located at 134 Main Street South, Newmarket. Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
