Honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21st, the 11th Annual Oakville Film Festival is paying homage to Indigenous heritage and culture by screening films that are both created and inspired by Indigenous stories.
Synopsis of Feature Film, The Great Salish Heist:
A down-on-his-luck First Nations Archeologist seeking redemption teams up with a group of misfits from the Rez to break into a museum and reclaim sacred artifacts that rightfully belong to their people.
Screening 2 short films, Debwewin: Truth of the Land, and Onyota’ a:ka. (People of The Standing Stone).
