2-day online workshop
In this two-day workshop, artists will explore the still life genre. Instructor Jennifer Hinrichs will lead a discussion of the tradition and an exploration of some well-known pieces in this style. Using sample paintings as reference, students will discuss issues of composition, colour, lighting, and technique before creating a painting of their own. Hinrichs will provide individual instruction and encourage participants to work in a variety of mediums, including pencil, charcoal, acrylic or oils. The workshop will conclude with a constructive critique of finished work.
