Themed Summer Camps at Main Street Kids

Every Camp Week is Unique. Choose from fun-themed camps for ages four to nine years. There is something for everyone – animal lovers, sporty kids, STEM kids, mini chefs, or artsy kids who love to create!

Discover the world of medical science, health and the human body. Learn about the skeletal system and then examine x-rays and apply splints, casts and slings. Hunt for germs and test your handwashing skills. Understand how medications and vaccines work. Examine how our lungs work and understand various breathing emergencies like asthma and choking and how you can help. Learn basic first aid skills and when to call 911.
Medics Camp – Theme: Explore

Explore the world of medical science, health and the human body. In this version of Medics Camp we will explore the nervous system, how the brain works, mental health, pet health and veterinary medicine.
Medics Camp – Theme: Forensic Med-CSI
Markham (NEW! Bur Oak SS): August 15- 19
Medics will journey into a different area of medicine where doctors and scientists specialize in identifying and analyzing microscopic clues to help solve crimes. Think of them as doctor detectives! Medics CSI (crime scene investigators) will explore forensic pathology, odontology (teeth), entomology (insects), anthropology (bones) as well as DNA, blood basics and dactyloscopy (fingerprints). At the end of the week Medics CSIs will use what they’ve learned to solve a crime.

This is an 8-week program introducing the basic principles of engineering through fun activities using building blocks, motors, gears and other mechanical devices. The program is recommended for children ages 6-10. No previous experience is required. Using building blocks in conjunction with other tools and mechanical parts, our students develop their building skills. The lessons start with a brief demonstration that is immediately followed by building Young Engineers models.

Metal Mania Summer Camp
Monday, July 18 – Friday, July 22
This camp is for musicians of all skill levels who are interested in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals and more. Kids ages 10-18 can develop their musicianship and learn new skills in a rockin’ & creative environment. School of Rock camps embody our philosophy that you have to Play to Learn! Campers get hands-on instruction, workshops, clinics, and band practices, and put on a concert the last day of camp!
There are camps that focus on songwriting, recording, video, and more. These are specialty camps that require a minimum number of kids.

Introducing FALCON- Our First Aid Leadership Camp Onsite and the newest edition to Medics Camp. Available to youth ages 13 & 14. The first aid component of FALCON will cover all of the topics found in a traditional standard first aid and CPR course as well as psychological first aid, a topic that’s particularly relevant in today’s environment. The leadership portion will focus on building self-esteem and confidence, improving communication skills, inspiring creativity, collaborating with others to achieve a shared goal and engendering trust and compassion for others.
