No other flower commands the attention like a sunflower.
A massive bloom balanced precariously atop a stock that really looks quite insufficient to do the job. It’s burgeoning flower hosting a colony of seeds, each one destined to mimic and replicate the mother plant.
Rising skyward and dwarfing all others, the sunflower perks up at sunrise and follows the sun across the sky, finally bowing good tidings as the warm orb dips below the horizon.
And like Van Gogh, we arrive at a field of sunflowers with excitement and glee – an opportunity to capture the majestic beasts in all their glory – and, perchance, the opportunity to create a selfie for the ages.
