Sukriti Sharma

Sukriti Sharma commenced her initial training under the tutelage of Guru Sh. Ashok
Chakraborty and further honed her skills under the distinguished guidance of Sangeet
Natak Academy awardee Guru Sh. Krishan Mohan Mishra, the Elder son of the late Pt.
Shambhu Maharaj. She completed a rigorous 10-year training program in Kathak and
holds a Post Diploma from the esteemed National Institute of Kathak Dance - Kathak
Kendra, New Delhi, India. Additionally, she holds a degree from Indira Kala Sangeet
Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, India.
Sukriti is recognized as a graded artist with Delhi Doordarshan. She has actively
participated in various workshops, delving into the diverse facets of Kathak under the
guidance of masters such as Smt. Shama Bhate, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Smt. Alokparna Guha,
Deepti Gupta, and Madhu Natraj Kiran. With several years of teaching experience in
India and a current tenure of three years in Canada, she brings a wealth of expertise to
her students.
Having been an integral part of Padmashree Smt. Shovana Narayan's repertoire named
'ASAVARI' for numerous years, Sukriti Sharma has showcased her talent in various
festivals both in India and abroad. Notable performances include appearances at
Kathak Mahotsava, Surya Festival, Vasantotsava, Konark Festival, Khajuraho Festival,
Kathak Mahotsava Canada (2016 & 2018), Carrasauga Festival, ArohaFest (2017-2019),
The Great India Festival, and Angikam, among others.
She has contributed to productions led by her gurus Sh. Krishan Mohan Mishra, Sh. Jai
Kishan Maharaj, Smt. Asavar Pawar, Smt. Shovana Narayan, Smt. Maitryee Pahari, Smt.
Malti Shyam, and Shailja Nalwade. In addition, she has collaborated with renowned
Kathak artists based in Canada, including Hemant and Vaishali Panwar, Deepti Gupta,
and Tanveer Alam. Noteworthy achievements include her participation in the
Choreographic Mentorship Program, danceAdvance, by Sampradaya Dance Creations,
and her recent tour of India as part of the production 'Mandala' organized by
Sampradaya Dance Creations.
Sukriti Sharma has also been featured in a festival curated by the National Ballet of
Canada. Most recently, she contributed to the creative project 'Muhandis' by Tanveer
Alam
