Hill Potters transform clay into fantastical and practical objects

SHARE

There’s something uniquely beautiful about handmade pottery. It’s functional and yet, it can be incredibly artistic. In the hands of the right maker, clay becomes the conduit for three-dimensional expression – fantastical or practical.

Local fans can get their fix this weekend – May 27 – 29 – when the Hill Potter Guild in Richmond Hill hosts its first in-person exhibit in more than two years.Visit the gallery and see what their members have been up to – they’re planning some interesting demos, as well as a wonderful display of handmade, one-of-a-kind pottery for sale. Come on out and support your local community craftspeople and artists!

If you’ve ever had the itch to create in clay, maybe you should consider contacting the Guild about lessons.  They offer handbuilding & wheel-throwing classes to all in a fully equipped studio. Classes are offered in the Fall, Winter, & Spring (6 students per class). Students have full access to studio equipment & tools, potters’ wheels, slab roller, extruder, & glazes.

You can contact them at hillpotters@yahoo.ca
