SHARE

The Pollinator Community Art Project continues with THREE pop-up paint days – July 26, 27 and 28 – with the King Township Public Library.

Today, KHCC staff will be at the King City location from 10 a.m. to noon. Tomorrow they will be at the Schomberg location from 10 a.m. to noon and Thursday they will be at the Nobleton location, also 10 a.m. to noon. They will be at each of the library locations with paint and puzzle pieces in hand so that you can add to the giant butterfly puzzle art piece, to be displayed at the King Township Municipal Centre.Find a full list of KTPL locations by clicking here.

Join other King residents to create a work of art worth celebrating! Paint a puzzle piece to help us create our Butterfly Puzzle Mural to be hung for all to see at the King Township Municipal Centre.

The project launched during Pollinator Week, June 20, and continues all summer until Flight of the Monarch Day on August 21. Puzzle pieces will be available to paint at select community events and at the King Heritage & Cultural Centre, Tuesday- Saturday, 10am-4pm.

The Pollinator Community Art Project directly supports the Township of King’s Bee City Certification and Mayors Monarch Pledge actionable goals. Municipalities participating the Mayors Monarch Pledge are required to complete a minimum of three actions annually from the National NWF list of 24 actions for municipalities.

One of the actions King has committed to implement for 2022 involves creating the Pollinator Community Art Project. The project aims to engage residents and promote monarch and pollinator conservation as well as cultural awareness and recognition.
