How long have you lived in YR? Four and a half years

Why did you make YR home? In 2006, we relocated to US for our jobs and in 2017 we moved back to Canada and moved to York Region since our son lives in Markham

What do you do for fun in YR? Visit art galleries, participate in all artistic events and take pictures in the beautiful woods of York Region for inspiration for my next painting

What is one event that you never miss in YR? Stouffville Art in the Park

What are your favourite restaurants in YR? Winery restaurants such as Gallucci

What YR attractions/events/happenings would you recommend to friends who visit YR? Any Art show.

Bio: Meral expresses herself best in watercolors. She attended numerous courses, including the watercolour painting course at the New York Arts Academy. She has completed workshops with distinguished artists and participated in several juried exhibitions. Meral’s interest in visual arts is also reflected in her involvement with several art associations and galleries. She has served as the president of the Board of Trustees of the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa and the president of the Oshawa Art Association. Her affection for the beauty of the nature is revealed in her paintings through realistic landscapes, colorful florals, shapes found in nature, ethnic rugs and copper pots. Her paintings hang in public and private collections in Canada, US and Europe
