York Region Transit (YRT)
YRT offers local and rapid transit services in all nine York Region municipalities. Almost 130 routes keep residents connected within York Region, as well as connecting services in the City of Toronto and the Regions of Peel and Durham. In addition, Mobility Plus provides door-to-door, shared-ride, accessible public transit service for people with disabilities.

York Region is a great place to get out and explore by bicycle. Cycling clubs, specialty and repair shops, multi-use paths and YRT bike racks are all available, as are safety and education programs. We encourage our citizens to consider cycling. Cycling is a quick, smart and environmentally-friendly form of transportation.

There are three types of cycling maps available:
The York Region Cycling Map shows bike lanes, boulevard multi-use paths, off-road multi-use trails, paved shoulders and bike-friendly streets in York Region. Cyclists can use the map to plan their routes.
The York Region Cycling Tour Map (New in 2016) provides ideas for exploring York Region by bike, from ten tour routes to mountain biking, BMX and family cycling options.
The York Region Interactive Cycling Map provides cyclists with existing routes to help with planning bicycle trips.

York Region’s roads are maintained and improved regularly, assisting in the safe and efficient transport of goods and people between urban and rural areas. In addition, York Region Transit buses are readily available and offer fast and convenient travel throughout the Region.
